| Has anyone else noticed that the CPU runs close to 100% continuously while the StarEngineService runs? Is there a way to fix that besides turing off the service? -Walt Zydhek |

| I got the same problem. I reported the case to ipSwitch one months ago. They said no fix at the moment. A workaround they suggested is to change the update frequency from 10 mins to a longer value. I requested once per day and they sent a registration key to me (see below). However, I found the update once per day was un-successful. IpSwitch said they tested the key and it worked fine without any issue. You may give a trial by following the steps below. Please post your result here. ====== The ID you will put in place of the below key will be F5C1DEA9-1C9F-461A-BAB0-0BDF178EF072 and that will have it do the update once a day the below steps are how to put it in place. Stop all Services before performing these steps First, we need to go into the Star folder in the Imail (x:\Imail\Star or x:\Program Files\Ipswitch\Collaboration Suite\Imail\Star) directory and delete anything in this folder. Next we need to open up Regedit and navigate to: HKLM/system\currentcontrolset\services\StarEngineService\parameters\options Copy the supplied ID and Edit the Options String Value in RegEdit and remove the old ID. Now paste the new ID into this field and save/exit RegEdit. One done, Start services back up and you finish?. ================ Good luck. Stanley

| The key has been found to update once per seven(7) days, or WEEKLY in other words. If you find the StarEngineService keep CPU at high rate for 30 - 50 seconds for every 10 mins, you may use the key. I have been used it for 2 months without issues for ICS on spam detection. Spam is not harmful virus; definitions updating on every 10 mins seems useless, wasting CPU resources only. If there was an option to choose in ICS, I think twice updates per day is good enough.
