When a custom application I have written connects to the ftp site the user will sometimes be left waiting for minutes, but when using WS FTP Pro it only takes a mater of seconds to connect.

I have enabled WS FTP connection logging inside of the custom app so that I can try to determine exactly what it is that is slowing the connect down but I am still waiting on the resulting log files from these users. 

Is there any know performance issues with the SDK?  Has anyone seen this problem before that can offer any advice?  I have attached the code that I am using to make the connection.
