I posted this in the IMail forum.  I thought I would post it here just in case.

An issue has popped up for us on IMail that has me baffled.  Recently, 3 separate users have been unbale to get messages from their inbox via web messaging.  I shows no email in the box, but when I go into the user folders, the main.mbx file shows they have mail in them.

We have a 2 clustered IMail servers.  They are running Win2K3, IMail 8.15 and have the email folders and files on a SAN unit.

The only common thread I have found is that these users all access IMail through web messaging and have multiple folders saved in their accounts.  I have restarted the services and even rebooted the servers to no avail.  When I access the accounts through web messaging, a "main.~bx" file appears in the user folder on the SAN, and the account hangs in the browser.

The issues seemed to start when an email was sent to the account.  The Imail server tried to write the new email to the user's main.mbx file but errored.  Every incoming email after that errored, and the

I'm posting an example of the log files when an email is sent to these accounts (removed the domain name and email just for privacy):

05:20 00:02 SMTP-(25df10d1013ec86a) processing C:\IMail\spool\Q25df10d1013ec86a.SMD

05:20 00:05 SMTP-(25df10d1013ec86a) ERR ********.com open append fail (\\Imaildata\Inboxes\Imail\*******_com\Users\*******\main.mbx)
