| Ever since Imail Hotfix 8.1, the web messaging service will stop. This could happen 3 times a day or more. We've called Ipswitch tech support and seemed to have boggled them. We're even re-installed and emplemented a new server since this started.
Wanted to see if anyone has had this happen to them and if they have found a fix for it other than running WUG. Thanks, Julie

| I had the same problem. It was really causing grief, and I had little time to try to slueth it, so I'm afraid my approach wasn't very scientific. I:
1) Checked "Ignore source address in security check"; 2) Checked "Enable thread pooling", and increased the number of threads; 3) and I stopped my one user with 3000 nested folders from logging in through the web interface;
I did establish this:
1) Web messaging was hanging, not terminating (so setting the Windows service watchdog didn't do any good); 2) There were no errors of any sort in any of the logs, even with debugging on;
Together, these seem to have reduced the problem to a manageable level. I have no illusions that I solved it. I will watch this thread avidly for any more intelligent suggestions.

| I have the same problem with web mail. The web mail service stops 2 or three times a day. We host mail for 20 different school districts and therefore have 20 different domains. When you look in the spool/web folder it will have the same person showing several different times. The the next day it will be someone else. After the service stops three times in one day the server will reboot. This happpens at least once a week. We are running 8.12 with Declude antivirus/antispam. We also have some domains using killerwebmail templates other use the IMail default. |

| stpracer, We're not using the killer web mail at this point. We haven't had to reboot. When we have rebooted, it hasn't solved anything other than routine maintenance. It does seem to be different users each time for us too. we're running over a 100 domains and we're also an ISP. The time it would take to track down every potential user that could cause the web mail to stop running would be time wasted when the focus should be fixing the web mail part of the software. Thank you for your response. I was hoping there would be a better answer from someone. Although, it's good to know that it the software and not just us or our server. Thank you for your response. I should also thank the person before you. I was waiting to hear from another person or instance of this glitch. Thank you,
Julie Seimitsu

| Well, you could roll back to iMail 8.0. As you noted, this problem didn't start ocurring until 8.1. |

| gnetwerker, We did an upgrade from 8.0 to 8.1. Not long after this event, we started seeing this problem arise. Not long after that, a possible non-related, nor explainable, event caused the IMail software to completely crash. with IPSwitch tech support, we had to reload all the Imail software and information At this time, we are not able to go back to an earlier version when this was not a problem. It was a good suggestion. I wish we could. Thanks, Julie Seimitsu

| Still fighting this same problem. One thing that I've noticed is that all of failures point to a person who has only a last name listed in their account. If I put in a first and last name the failure doesn't happen on that person again. I used to fail multiple times on a single person before. I don't know if this is the problem or a symptom of the problem. I also have 4 nic cards in our server and I'm changing that to one tonight to see if helps fix the problem. |
