| How often are you seeing this issue? Are the errors at regular intervals, like every 15 minutes, etc.? How many users are you hosting that use the IMAP protocol? How often are they accessing their mailbox? (checking for new mail) Are the users accessing their mailbox from multiple clients? Are the user directories excluded from any desktop AV scan on the server? If you are logging the IMAP service, you could check the logs for what mailbox is being accessed at the time the service crashes. If you find it is the same account each time, you have a corrupted mailbox causing the issue. There may be multiple mailboxes contributing to the issue. Tamara Ipswitch Messaging Support |

No, this happens about once a week.
How many users are you hosting that use the IMAP protocol?
About 20
How often are they accessing their mailbox? (checking for new mail)
anywhere from every minute to every 10 minutes
Are the users accessing their mailbox from multiple clients?
some users have iphones which use IMAP, i believe. Everyone else uses 1 desktop client.
Are the user directories excluded from any desktop AV scan on the server?
yes
If you are logging the IMAP service, you could check the logs for what mailbox is being accessed at the time the service crashes. If you find it is the same account each time, you have a corrupted mailbox causing the issue. There may be multiple mailboxes contributing to the issue.
Here are the last few minutes of the log with full debug logging turned on. The service crashed right after that. I don't see anything that useful...
thanks

| we also have this problem for a very long time (couple of years) and we dont find any solution except a script that check all protocols (IMAP, POP, ....) every 3 minutes and relaunch the process if not answering
