Will the 1.04 clients be able to login when I upgrade to 2.0, or must I upgrade the clients as well?

The 1.04 Client should work with the 2.0 Server, however I would strongly encourage you to update your clients to version 2.0 when you update your server to 2.0

Using the 1.04 client with the 2.0 server was not tested and is an unsupported configuration.

We will certainly get the client software updated as quickly as possible. However, it would be prudent to have tested this as these two things cannot easily be done simultaneously unless I am missing something. I would like the process to be fairly seamless and not break the clients when the server is upgraded.

Thanks though for the response.

I'm currently running a 2.0 client on a 1.04 server and i don't have any problems so far. Maybe you could push your clients applications first and then upgrade your server.

I too was planning on upgrading from IM 1.04 to IM 2.02.  I'm unsure of whether to upgrade the clients then the server or vise versa?  And, unfortunately, with our current network setup 'the force all clients to update the next time they log in' is not a viable option (because the end-users need to have administrative privileges & our group policy settings prohibit such installations for security reasons).

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Kyle
