I'm trying to set up email alerts with WhatsUp Pro (SP1 installed), but every time I try to test it out, I get a message stating that What'sUp failed to connect to the SMTP server and the message "An established connection was aborted by the software in your host machine." I've tried connecting to a remote SMTP server and connecting to an SMTP server running on the same machine as What'sUp-- both SMTP servers were virtual, but work for everything else we use so I can't see why there would be a problem with this. Permissions seem to be fine, I've even opened the SMTP server all the way up security-wise so that anything can connect. Any ideas or help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Had the same issue when I first created my server... turned out to be McAfee Antivirus v8... it has a new network protection module that block SMTP on port 25 by default..... took me a few days of hair pulling to realise but once I removed the check box... bang.. a flood of emails started to flow...

.. just a thought.. worth a look!!
