| | Hi all, Is anyone aware of a document that outlines WhatsUp Gold Database Sizing Recommendations. I'm getting ready to migrate off the SQL Express to a SQL Enterprise on a separate box, and my Database Admin. is asking for this information. Currently our database is 78.9% capacity of the 4GB limit with SQL Express. |

| | There are no DB sizing documents. You are using about 3Gb of the max of 4, right now. The size of the database is probably pretty stagnant if your WUG has been running for a year (assuming you have not increased the default "Report Data" settings). If you have not been running as long as the settings (or if you reduced them), you can make an estimate by taking the settings and figuring out how long that is as a percentage of the time running and doing a bit of math... If you are running WUG for only 6 months (assuming defaults), your DB will likely exceed the 4BG and may top out at about 6 Gb. There are many things that affect DB size, so the above is only an estimate, but based on your previous usage. If you now enabled the 'Any' Event monitor and add it to 200 Windows computers (yes, it has happened), the DB (from just about empty) will fill up in a few days or your new DB could hit 10 GB in a couple of weeks or less.
