:w00t:We have the problem, that the assigment of users to user groups get lost from time to time. Configuration:

- WS_FTP Version 6.1.1,

- users are pulled from AD and sorted in local user groups,

- about 800 users distributed over several hosts,

- database is PostgreSQL

Did you make similar experiences?

Are you seeing all group assignments lost, or only certain users removed?  Is this happening after you synchronize the users for your host?

I'am seeing only some users having lost their group membership. My assumtion is that this happens during user sync. Ipswitch tech support told us that this is a known defect with version 6 fixed in version 7.

i am currently running version 7 and no the problems you are experiencing ARE NOT resolved in version 7. Like you I experience random removal of user data after clicking the Syncronise button.

symptoms are ;

1. Random AD users lose their group membership in WSFTP

2. Users home folder is defaulted back to /<username> regardless of what it was previously

3. If the user is normally "locked" to their home folder this restriction is removed

4. Some users that were previously disabled are enabled

5. Where a user has "sysadmin" permissions these are removed and the user is reverted back to a "regular" user

6. Item 5 above then means thatthe wsftp manager web gui becomes inaccessible.

I've been told that their are "issues" with the actrive directory sync - would anyone like to comment on the status of these issues?

Are you using PostgreSQL or SQL for the database backend?

Hi

I am experiencing the exact same problems detailed above. I am using a PostgreSQL database backend.

We were going to upgrade from our current version (6.0.0.0) to the latest, however if this problem is still current in the latest version and there is no fix then we will have to change FTP servers.

Any ideas?

Chris
