Hi All,

I started installing the FTP_Server v7 on Windows 2003 server. I chose the custom installation and then selected the Microsoft SQL Database Server. After giving hostname\instance name, port number and username and password, the connection is failing though the username and password works fine when I log in to the SQL Management Studio.

I am not able to figure out the issue here. I would appreciate if someone can suggest me any solution to this.

Thanks

Is the user account you are attempting to connect with a windows user, or a SQL user?  From my testing I have seen that a SQL (SA) user will work fine but a windows user (with rights to SQL) would not work during the installation or migration.

Thanks for your reply. Yes I was trying with the SQL user. I tried with SA and other users I had created for the database I want to access but it didnt work.

Any help.

Verify the port that SQL is listening on. Also, you should be able to look at the SQL logs for the connection attempt to see if WS_FTP Server is actually getting to the right place.
