| | Hi there, I'm trying to monitor the status of my BES's SRP connection via a passive SNMP trap. I've got the BES server forwarding the necessary events (drop and connect) to the WUG server and can see the "unsolicited" traps in the log. I've installed the BES MIB in WUG and created the passive monitor from the MIB: Major type 6, minor type Any and OID 1.3.6.1.4.1.3530.5.50.10.3102, No payload. I've also assigned the monitor to the device in question but the SNMP events are still showing as unsolicited. The payload from the unsolicited trap is TrapName=dispTrapVariables-3102 TrapMajor=6 TrapMinor=3102 dispSRPConnectionDropped.0=<7>Nov 25 09:34:59 besserver1 BlackBerry Dispatcher CN=besserver1/O=BES {0x27C8} 1971: (#50097) [SRP] Dispatcher\SRP Connection dropped, Error=0
CommunityName=PUBLIC Packet Type=Trap Protocol Version=SNMPv1 Timetick=13days 18:59:21.84 Object=1.3.6.1.4.1.3530.5.50.10 (dispTrapVariables) 1.3.6.1.4.1.3530.5.50.10.3102.0=<7>Nov 25 09:34:59 pwcbrbbry01 BlackBerry Dispatcher CN=besserver1/O=BES {0x27C8} 1971: (#50097) [SRP] Dispatcher\SRP Connection dropped, Error=0 Why won't the monitor recognise the event? Thanks |

| | Have you imported the traps from the MIB? In the server console under the tools menu is an Import Trap Definitions tool. Use that to select the MIB that contains the traps you want to use as passive monitors then click the import to passive monitors button. If you're not using WUG v12.x the process may be slightly different, but the same general idea applies. HTH David |

| | David, Importing the traps worked a treat and now the Traps are being linked to the correct server (not unsolicited). |
