| We are currently running Exchange with ORF spam filter installed. We are aiming to move to IMail server, but we would like to keep our current spam filter since we've already paid for it and it works brilliantly. After some discussions with the folks at Vamsoft (they make ORF), they indicated that it is possible to configure the IIS SMTP Server (the only SMTP server ORF will attach to) to forward all mail to IMail's SMTP server.
I would like to run the IIS SMTP Server and IMail server on the same machine. I can configure IMail to listen on port 26 and the IIS SMTP Server to listen on port 25 - that way the IIS SMTP server catches all the SMTP traffic on the appropriate port, therefore allowing ORF to work its magic. Where the disconnect is: shooting the SMTP traffic over to the IMail SMTP server. I can configure the IMail SMTP server to listen on port 26, and I can tell the IIS SMTP Server to use port 26 for outbound connections (Properties > Delivery > Outbound connections... > TCP Port). I also configured the advanced delivery options (Properties > Delivery > Advanced...) to use my IMail server's machine name as the fully-qualified domain name, and the domain as the Smart host.
This does not seem to work. Am I missing something? |
