When I open the program it will flash the connection page and then close immediately.

The only thing I know that is different today is that a second ftp batch job for the same site with the same file name ran before the first one finished.

I have already renamed the requests.dat and transferhistory.dat files for all users as well as setting the ClassicStartup=1 in the wsftp_options.ini file.

Try deleting the transferhistory.dat and requests.dat files even if they have already been renamed. Also, what operating system are you running this on?

I renamed request_tool1.dat to .old and that took care of it. NOW the program is generating TransferHistory_tools1 thru TransferHistory_tools7 for each tranfer. How can i stop the generation of these files?

Have you removed all of the transferhistory.dat files? Delete all the transferhistory.dat files including the TransferHistory_tools1 thru TransferHistory_tools7. This seems to occur when the files are either too large or corrupted.

I deleted all transferhistory.dat files and all the  TransferHistory_tools1 thru TransferHistory_tools7. None of them were large. The problem still exists. Is there a switch or something to stop these from generating?

What is the OS you have WS_FTP installed on? If it is Windows XP, check to see if you have DEP enabled for all Programs or just Windows programs. If it is looking at all programs, add wsftpgui.exe to the exclusion list.

The OS for the server is windows 2000 service pack 4. As far as I know the only thing that happened which started all this is when a second ftp batch job for the same site with the same file name ran before the first one finished. I did al the suggestions. The program is working fine, only these files keep generating.
