We host many users on our servers and we are about to move those users them to other servers, but we want to maintain user's passwords and preferences..

What can we do? Is there a tool we need to get or just by migrating IMail's user database we can have everything as it was?

Please help me guys.

Thanks!

Just export registry settings

HKLM\Software\Ipswitch\Imail

You do not need to encode passwords or any other info

If we're using IMail 6.01 do we need to install the same version on the new servers?

And how can we backup our customer's info?

I know that IMails has its users database ... Is it just a matter of copy-paste of those folders?

Because I read an article and it had this steps:

1. connect via ftp the two servers

2. copy the Imail directory

3. Install Imail in the new server.

4. backup your regedit imail configuration.

5. Move the regedit backup file

6. Open the regedit in the new server and import the backup file

Is that the easiest (only) way to do it?

Thanks for your help!

yes,

0. export reg file

1. install imail server

2. import reg file to new machine

3. copy users dir

4. change the ip and host info in the registry by the hand if need

5. restart services or pc
