| 1. At the end of a blackout period, reset the clock on that device's action policies.
As WUG is today if a blackout period ends at 4:00 AM and the device went down at 3:00 AM we DO NOT get a down-for-10 or a down-for-20 notification.
This is BIG hole.
Ideally "reset action policy clock" should be an option on the blackout period screen. |

| I'm glad to see some of these feature suggestions are being looked at! Here are some others I would very much like to see:
-DNS and TCP/UDP Active Monitor retries: Especially when monitoring over an Internet connection, DNS queries time out periodically causing a device state change. SNMP Active Monitors have the ability to configure a number of retries so it would be nice if DNS and TCP/UDP AMs could be configured the same way to prevent unnecessary state changes.
-95th percentile utilization plot: Or, a configurable x percentile utilization percentage. This is very commonly used by ISPs and data centers to track customer bandwidth utilization for billing purposes. We currently have to use MRTG in addition to WUG just for this function. It would be nice to have this in WUG.
-Apply Action Policies to Passive Monitors: I've never quite figured this out... Why do we not have the ability to configure Action Policies for Passive Monitors like we do Active Monitors?
-Ability to plot multiple items on one graph: As an example, if I have multiple CPUs in a server, it would be nice to have a single graph that plots the utilization for all of those CPUs on a single graph. I'm not talking about graphing the single instance of average usage. I mean having a plot line for EACH CPU on one graph. The Interface Utilization graph does this nicely with the ability to plot both inbound and outbound usage on a single graph.
-Ability to have DNS monitors query different hostnames: Yes, this is a minor one since DNS queries can be "hacked" using a UDP Active Monitor but it would greatly simplify configuration by just being able to type in a host name to monitor instead of hacking through the hex values. |

| Good ones Mark.
Also -
Telnet and HTTP - Allow us to make more than one connection (sequentially) to test a web application.
NTP/w32time - check to ensure that device time is within a certain proximity to a trusted NTP server. |

| | We definitely need group support for users, including the ability to assign workspace views to groups and/or users. I'm at the point now where the inability to create groups and assign rights to groups is delaying deployment to the help desk team. I'm also losing the support of my management for the product due to failure to deliver a useable console to the help desk. |

| | Sergio, I have a few questions about your 'Intra-device dependencies' feature request. 1. Is the issue that if the device is having a network connection issue (the 'ping' check fails) that we should not even continue with polling for the 'smtp' and 'raid-5 status' monitors because they will fail as well? 2. Would giving you an option to select the 'primary' active monitor such that if this is down don't bother polling the others handle the majority of the 'Intra-device dependencies' case? Thanks, Jamie Slafkosky |

| That's it exactly. We should be able to assign to any monitor a dependency upon any other monitor even if the "parent" monitor is on the same device.
i.e. HTTP active monitor on server-X is dependent upon Ping active monitor on that same server. |
