Hello,

I would like to know if there will be support for configuring a remote SQL server rather than having to use the SQL server on the WUGs machine or Virtual Server in my environment.

It's already possible today, you can place the wug db wherever you want. And of course it's still possible in v12

Reading, writing and arithmetic - If you need to choose, please take option 1.

Nicholas:

As Sergio mentioned, you can use a remote SQL server instead of using the SQL server on the WUG machine. The instruction to configure the remote SQL server can be found in the "Help" menu.

Open the "Help" and do a search on "Remote SQL Server" and check the results. You can find the step by step instructions in the help menu.

If you get any problems, let us know!

Mark:

You can still use sql server 2000 - as long as the server storage meets 4 GB requirement. Make sure to follow the steps as described in help menu ( Search on "Upgrading the database schema").

The upgrade script will handle the database transformation. If you simply backup the V11.0.x database and wish to restore it in the V12.0 database without running the upgrade scripts - the WUG V12.0 application is not going to work wtih V11.0.x What'sUp database.

Hope this answers your question.
