| We would like feedback on the new Email monitor and Email action with authentication features.
Some areas to test:
•Try these against any mail server other than Exchange (preferably one that supports SSL)
•Try the SMTP auth capabilities
•Answer the following questions:
a.What kind of SSL support do you have for your mail server?
b)What kind of SSL support do you have for your POP3 and IMAP server? Implicit SSL (an alternate port where all traffic is SSL-encrypted); explicit SSL using STLS (for POP3) or STARTTLS (for IMAP), usually done over the "standard" port; or both?
Thanks,

| We're especially looking for testing of an SMTP Authentication-enabled email action and the email monitor against Unix/Linux MTAs like Sendmail, Postfix, etc. We'd like testing of both the SSL features (for SMTP, POP3, and IMAP) as well as SMTP Authentication for email monitors and email actions.
Have a good one, Christian Lawson QA Engineer - Network Monitoring Ipswitch, Inc. |
