| I am running IMail Server 8.05, and have configured over a dozen Anti-Spam DNS Blacklists. I am confused, however, with why it appears that only one out of the dozen + blacklists is being used. I have logging turned on, and if I turn off/disable the one blacklist that appears to be working, I end up with a log file that contains repetitions of the following:
01:24 21:33 SMTP(029C2E19) Got White List and Content Filter for mydomain.com
01:24 21:33 SMTP(029C2E19) phrase filtering is disabled or there are no phrases to match
01:24 21:33 SMTP(029C2E19) statistical filtering is disabled
01:24 21:33 SMTP(029C2E1A) Got White List and Content Filter for mydomain.com
01:24 21:33 SMTP(029C2E1A) phrase filtering is disabled or there are no phrases to match
01:24 21:33 SMTP(029C2E1A) statistical filtering is disabled
01:24 21:34 SMTP(029C2E1B) Got White List and Content Filter for mydomain.com
01:24 21:34 SMTP(029C2E1B) phrase filtering is disabled or there are no phrases to match
01:24 21:34 SMTP(029C2E1B) statistical filtering is disabled
I get no indication from the above that any of the other blacklists are being used. Shouldn't each DNS blacklist appear somewhere in the log file?
When I do turn on the zen.spamhaus.org (DNS) blacklist, then this is what the log file looks like:
01:24 22:00 SMTPD(84FD009C) [00001932] BLACKLIST: connecting to service (all_spamhaus_lists:*:zen.spamhaus.org)
01:24 22:00 SMTPD(84FD009C) [00001932] BLACKLIST: 64.233.178.241 was not found on list (all_spamhaus_lists:*:zen.spamhaus.org)
But why don't any of the other dozen + blacklists get mentioned in the log file?
Thanks.
P.S. Here are the other blacklists I have configured:

| DNS Blacklists need to be first configured in the global Anti-Spam folder then added to a domain's Anti-Spam folder under the Connection Checks filter.
Is that the configuration you have?

| >> then added to a domain's Anti-Spam folder under the Connection Checks
I did not realize there was yet another anti-spam page to configure. I assumed that the anti-spam/DNS blacklist was global for all hosts.
In exploring further, I can only find ONE other Anti-spam folder, even though I have over 3 dozen virtual IPs configured. Is there supposed to be an anti-spam folder for each virtual IP?
It is very unclear how the virtual IPs are affected or covered by the DNS blacklists. |

| Virtual domains inherit the Anti-Spam settings of your primary domain.

| | Hi IMail Guys, Would you guys ever publish a proper guide to configure the IMAIL? With some screen shot? I have no luck understanding you terms. Query Domain. In the text box, enter the domain to query in the zone file. This name usually matches the server domain name
what do you understand with this line? really what domain and which zone file? is it like DNS Zone file or what exactly it is? |
