| | Hello Since my customers found difficult to create rules for spam with subjects prefixed I tried not only prefixing the subject but also moving them to a spam folder. It works great, creating the folder automatically and moving the spam in there. But, it doesn't work quite well with forwarded spam. For example i have a generic info@ account which forwards to a bunch of people under the same domain. If a spam message is received there the subject is prefixed BUT it is not moved to spam folder but instead is forwarded. And is not sent to spam folder on the final accounts either. I am pretty sure this is not how it should work, since it should apply both actions before forwarding , prefixing the subjects AND moving to folder, not just one. Thank you. |

| forwards take place before the rules, so if you want to forward and deliver to that account, you need to forward to .,user@forwardaddress which will deliver locally as well as forward.

| That is what I thought, but then why does it prefixes the subject before forwarding? doesn't make sense.
I will try your advise to see if we get the desired behavior.
thank you. |

| | My question is similar: We have spam folders set up for each user. Any spam that comes into that users account is tagged with a prefix and then dropped into the spam folder. If I have an email account and I set up the forward to send ALL emails to another account, the spam messages are tagged with a subject prefix and then delivered to the forwarded users inbox instead of their spam folder. Forwarded messages are ignoring the delivery rules on both the original recipients account and the forwarded users account. Why is that so and how can I set it up so that I can forward email messages with out the deluge of spam following? |

| Actually, your question is not similar, it is the same. I think Tripp didn't understand me the first time, I am pretty sure we are not getting the expected behavior.
Please let me know if you could solve this.
Thanks. |

| | Here is what I do. When my system detects SPAM, I have it perpend "X-IMail-SPAM" to the beginning of the subject line. I then have a rule to look for e-mails with "X-IMail-SPAM" in the subject and move them to the SPAM folder. When forwarding, I add a rule to forward the mail when the subject does not contain "X-IMail-SPAM". This allows me to forward all e-mail except for the SPAM. Hope this helps. |

| | I suppose that is a work around; however, I don't believe that it should work that way. I shouldn't have to set up a rule in a mail box to filter spam when I pay a subscription to have the Premium Spam working for me. If the header is being tagged then why isn't the message being filtered. Ipswitch needs to work on their rules. A spam rule should run first, then all other rules. Or at least give me the option to decide whether I want the spam rule to work first. Why would I want to forward SPAM with the rest of the emails. |

| I completely agree with you jmiles, we should not be using work arounds, the system should work as indented. But the most curious thing is that it seems that no one cares about this, soon its going to be a year since I posted the original question.
