| I have a similar problem. I am trying to upload/download files to a remote website. The ISP promises that I have access and others appear to be able to access the site via FTP. Here is what happens: Using WS_FTP Pro I login and browse the directory. Then I select a file, click copy, go to a directory on my C: drive and click Paste there. I repeatedly get a file not found error -- and these are files that I clearly saw in the directory listing. I know it sounds that maybe I have directory listing priveledges, but not read/write, but again other users are able (with the same ID/password) to login and transfer files.
Here is a protion of the log:
[2005.01.25 17:17:29.711] PORT 192,168,100,11,45,213 [2005.01.25 17:17:29.742] 200 command successful [2005.01.25 17:17:29.742] RETR StaticPages.txt [2005.01.25 17:17:29.774] 550 StaticPages.txt: cannot find specified file Transfer request completed with status: Failed, 1 SubItem(s) failed [2005.01.25 17:17:54.774] PORT 192,168,100,11,45,221 [2005.01.25 17:17:54.805] 200 command successful [2005.01.25 17:17:54.805] RETR File_Log.txt [2005.01.25 17:17:54.867] 550 File_Log.txt: cannot find specified file Transfer request completed with status: Failed, 1 SubItem(s) failed
Incidentally, the server is: [2005.01.25 17:16:28.274] 220 pluto X2 WS_FTP Server 5.0.3 (4028021668) Host type (1): WS_FTP Server And I am using WS_FTP Pro 7.62.
I never have had this problem with any other site.
Thanks for any help!!

| Me again. I think I found the problem. Specifying the startup folder in WS_FTP apparently confused the server. Probably, the folder was specified for the login ID and doing it again on the client side caused the problem. Regardless, I found that by deleting the reference to the startup folder in the site properties I was able to login and transfer files.
HTH,
