| I'm new to WS_FTP, and SSL. Using Windows to auth. I can get Pro to work with Srvr on the same segment of a LAN using port 21 without SSL. Here's the particulars. SSL on server: created cert on server, created virtual host:ho_ftp.tpms.com. Local System: Port=990, ho_ftp.tpms.com: SSL : IP is: 192.168.2.5, Enable SSL, Force SSL conn, Force SSL on DataChannel, Allow CCC, Force 128bit or higher. Folders: view with 128 bit or higher. Local System: Stop & restart the service On Pro: IP is:192.168.2.101, Host Name/IP:192.168.2.5, Advanced: Server Type:FTPS/Implicit (changes port to 990), Host type: WS_FTP Server, Firewall:none, Client Cert: Imported one created on server. Use only 128 SSL, Use unencrypt CC after SSL auth When I connect I get connection Error: [2004.12.20 21:44:06.843] Connecting to 192.168.2.5:990 [2004.12.20 21:44:06.843] Connected to 192.168.2.5:990 in 0.000000 seconds, Waiting for Server Response [2004.12.20 21:44:06.843] Initializing SSL Session ... [2004.12.20 21:44:07.140] SSL Connect error 2: [2004.12.20 21:44:07.140] Connect Failed. [2004.12.20 21:44:07.140] SSL Connect Failed [2004.12.20 21:44:07.140] Host type (1): WS_FTP Server What am I missing? Let me know if you need more info. thank you Bill Meaney

| Hello Bill, I got the same error in a test enviroment, and the only way I found to solve this problem was. Client side - Site Options -> Advanced -> Server type changed from "FTPS/Iplicit SSL" to "FTP/SSL (AUTH SSL)" (I left the remote port 21, as default). Really I don't know why in the other way it didn't work... the only thing I can say is that I got the same error against a z/OS (IBM) FTP Server using TLS until I changed this parameter . Hopefully someone more expert can clarify this point. |

| I spoke with Ipswitch tech support yesterday afternoon. WS_FTP Server does not support Implicit SSL. The reason that WS_FTP Pro does is for usage of Pro as a ftp client to other ftp servers that do support Implicit SSL. He also explained the client certificate signing process.
