I think you can copy the .wup files to restore your maps, and a folder notification to restore yours alerts. You can try it... for me it's work

In the WhatsUp Gold installation directory:

For WhatsUp Gold 6.x, 7.x and 8.x:

These will exist only if a conversion was made from an earlier release (log
backup files from previous versions)
whatsupg*.bak
wugstats*.bak

WhatsUp Gold log files types
EV*.tab
ST*.tab
SP*.tab
SL*.tab

The "Archive" directory
The "Notification" subdirectory
All .emf and .dse files that the user modified from the original install.

For all versions:

- map files: *.wup
- setting files: *.wui
- mib.txt, traps.txt and defs.txt should be backed up if a user has compiled any MIBs into WhatsUp Gold
- wugstats.tab (wugstats.log for versions prior to 5.01)
- whatsupg.log (if old events history is needed)
- control access: whatsupg.acc (contains Web Interface user database)
- custom host types: hosttype.ini
- custom service definitions: services.ini
(In version 3.53 custom services are not upgradeable; the user will need to recreate the custom services upon upgrading the software. The 3.53 version does not have a services.ini file.)

In the winnt or the windows directory (in versions prior to 6.0):
- ipnotify.ini

Various settings in the registry under:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Ipswitch\WhatsUp

For example, if you have maps saved as Contexts, you would copy that data from:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Ipswitch\WhatsUp\Context

To backup your Startmap directory:
Run regedit. Go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Ipswitch\WhatsUp\Settings
Find the Value "StartMap". Double-click this value to see the list of paths to the maps you have selected to startup when you launch WhatsUp Gold. Copy this list of paths to a text file where you can find it again if you need to restore the "StartMap" value field. Then you will not have to list the maps again in Configure | Program Options and Startup
