I've got a situation, running the latest WGS where it will hang randomly. The log files show business as usual, but on this Windows 2000 Server box with all the updates at least once a day it will hang. When it does, stopping the service doesn't help either I actually have to kill the process then restart the service.

Any ideas?

Try a repair or compact of the database:  http://support.ipswitch.com/kb/IM-20060727-JH05.htm

Thanks for the help, I've done just that and will keep an eye on it. I had compacted it before but was doing it as version 3.x... Maybe that was part of the problem.

Just locked up again... any other suggestions?

Note: On the screen of the system running it - Windows 2000 Server SP4 I get the following error:

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library

Runtime Error!

Program: ...\WSService.exe

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.

Hi there,

I have the same issue with my WGS, it just stop working then i have to stop and start the service again , at least 5-6 times a day.  We are currently investigating the issue..

By any hazard, is your windows 2000 a virtual machine (vmware ESX).  My virtual machine is running Imail 2006.2 with WSG (latest version) and OS is windows 2000 SP4.  And also , do you use a Baracuda system for filtering spam and viruse.

Thanks for any feedback

Just so you know, i fixed my problems;

-Changed the port to 8101 so the client stop to try to sync;

-Got a empty db files, and created every users and contact one by one;

-uninstalling the client, then Installing ClientInternationnalSetup.exe instead of clientsetup (french os);

Same problem... compact and repair dosen't work for me.  If I go into the WGS Administrator, under Output window... The last line in the log is:  unable to accept connection, too many clients.  Any idea?
