TP02 is now available and can be downloaded here: http://preview.ipswitch.com/preview/messaging/WAdmin/WAdmin_TP02.exe

We initially had some install problems reported with TP02.  These problems resulted from differences in the version of the Microsoft redistributables between IMail 2006.2 and the WAdmin executables.  The WAdmin install will now update the redistributables and we have updated the install so you will need to download it again if you have already downloaded TP02.

This version resolved the issue of domain users loading slowly in the users tab and the bulk edit users tab.  Now, loading of the users is threaded so the list will continue to grow until all the users have been loaded.  Updating and viewing of individual users will still function while the user list is loading.

Four additional options were added to the Bulk Edit Users tab.  These four functions allow the updaing of user's web client preferences.  The options which can bed edited are:

Save copy of outgoing messages in sent folder.
Delete options (move to deleted folder or purge).
Default new message style.
Default message encoding.

Please continue to send any feedback or question you have to this Technical Preview Program forum.
- IMail Server 2006.2 must be installed, before you install WAdmin Console. To download IMail Server 2006.2, go to: http://www.ipswitch.com/products/imail/index.asp
- Do not install the WAdmin Console in the same directory as IMail Server.

Very excited to try this administrator console!

However I can't get it to work
I've installed it on a Win2k3 R2 32 bit server running imail server 2006.2, using the default program files directory. Both the local and remote package.
If I start the local package I get the following error:

Error Initializating.
System.DllNotFoundException: Unable to load DLL 'imailsec.dll': This application has failed to start because the aplication configuration is incorrect. Reinstallting the application may fix this problem. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x800736B1)

at wadmin.WAdmin.Build_MainTabControl()

WAdmin is closing

Also the eventviewer is full of similair errors.

The mentioned dll is however in the program directory. Do I manually need to register that dll or something?

Make sure you are launching the wadmin program from within the directory that it's installed (it could be the working directory is not set correctly in the shortcut).  Open explorer and go to that directory, then double click the wadmin.exe and see if it starts.

Thank you for your quick response.
I've tried that allready but didn't make any difference. I've also tried installing it on my local workstation to use the remote wadmin console, same error on there.

I've ran the filemon utily (http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sysinternals/utilities/filemon.mspx) and that reports wadmin.exe does read the .dll file:
4394:44:01 PMwadmin.exe:1020OPEND:\WAdmin\imailsec.dllSUCCESSOptions: Open Access: 00100021
4404:44:01 PMwadmin.exe:1020CLOSED:\WAdmin\imailsec.dllSUCCESS
4414:44:01 PMwadmin.exe:1020OPEND:\WAdmin\imailsec.dll.2.ConfigNOT FOUNDOptions: Open Access: 001200A9

After that I remove the TP02 and tried the TP01 version and that one works with no problem...

So TP01 works, tp02 does not?  Did you have tp01 installed before you isntalled tp02?  I'm wondering if possibly some of the dlls in tp02 didn't overwrite the tp02 install.

No, I did a "fresh" install of TP02 first. Both on the server running IMail and my workstation. Both computers give the same error.
After that I removed TP02 from the server, checked if the installer removed all files, and installed TP01. That one works...

Tripp,

I'm having exactly the same problem that pupleT has, TP02 won't start showing the same errors (local & remote). I even uninstalled TP01 (all the files and the "WAdmin Console for IMail" were erased), installed TP02 and had the same problem. I had to revert to TP01.

Okay, I've duplicated it on one machine and could not duplicate on another.  So, I'm pulling tp02 until I can get this figured out (the dll is says it's looking for is there).  Keep a watch on the forum for when I repost TP02.
