Today, the IMail Server Development team is releasing a prototype build of a Windows console application that can be used to administer local and remote installations of IMail Server. We are asking participants in the Technical Preview Program to install this prototype, try it out, and provide feedback to the development team on features, functionality, and usability.

We hope you take this opportunity to influence the development of this application, which is known internally as WAdmin Console.

The installation instructions are attached.

Notes:
- IMail Server 2006.2 must be installed, before you install WAdmin Console. To download IMail Server 2006.2, go to: http://www.ipswitch.com/products/imail/index.asp
- Do not install the WAdmin Console in the same directory as IMail Server.

- In our testing, we have found that when using the WAdmin Console with a remote installation of IMail Server, domains with more than 500 users will load the Users screen very slowly. We are working on this issue.

Please send any feedback or questions you have to this Technical Preview Program forum.

Thank-you,

IMail Server Development team

The preferred place for feedback is the web forum for the admin.
Is that a 64 bit machine?  Have you installed IMail 2006.2 on the machine?

Technical preview build 2 has just been uploaded and is now available at http://preview.ipswitch.com/preview/messaging/WAdmin/WAdmin_TP02.exe

This version resolved the issue of domain users loading slowly in the users tab and the bulk edit users tab.  Now, loading of the users is threaded so the list will continue to grow until all the users have been loaded.  Updating and viewing of individual users will still function while the user list is loading.

Four additional options were added to the Bulk Edit Users tab.  These four functions allow the updaing of user's web client preferences.  The options which can bed edited are:

Save copy of outgoing messages in sent folder.
Delete options (move to deleted folder or purge).
Default new message style.
Default message encoding.

Please continue to send any feedback or question you have to this Technical Preview Program forum.

What kind of error do you get?  We are seeing some issues install tp02 but tp01 still seems to work okay.

That is the same error we've seen on a couple other machines.  You can load tp01 for now and it should work fine.
