I am running ICS 2006-04a, and nobody can see recent conversation (the conversations are supposed to be stored for 7 days but the option is appeard grey in the IM Client)

Any idea ?

You need to modify settings for each individual user.

Select user, click ‘edit’ and under ‘User options’ tick ‘allow client access to conversation logs’
