Ipswitch has just released an update for WS_FTP Professional 2007.  For full details and to download this free hotfix, click here: http://www.ipswitch.com/2007HF2

This WS_FTP Professional 2007 hotfix addresses the following two issues:

  • SSH/SFTP downloads from servers now correctly transfer the complete file
  • Uploading and downloading data with a wildcard option now correctly transfers files

NOTE:  You will also need to update any Backup jobs you have saved with WS_FTP Professional 2007.  Please read the following Knowledge Base article for more information: http://www.ipswitch.com/KB2007

Hi Lyster,
What version are you attempting to patch? You can go to Help | About in the application or look at the release notes from the Start Menu (Start | Programs | Ipswitch WS_FTP Pro) This patch is only for WS_FTP Pro 2007 or WS_FTP Pro 2007 HF 1. This patch will also not work if you have a non license keyed version (NLK) of WS_FTP Pro 2007.

I recomend users do NOT install HotFix2

This HotFix broke Ws_FTP Pro 2007 on my PC.

When I installed it I was no longer able to see any remote files in the WS-FTP main GUI interface with an ordinary UserID ... this renders WS-FTP useless.  Unintsalling & re-installing does NOT fix the problem.

I can still see the remote files when using a UserID with Administrator authourity.

Hi BPR,
This sounds really strange to me. Do you have Read and List permissions on the server for the user who cannot see files in the remote pane?

Hi Lyster,
Let's take a look at the files that need to be patched. Can you zip and email me the following files from the install dir. The default would be: "C:\Program Files\Ipswitch\WS_FTP Pro"

- wsftppro.exe
- wsftpctl.dll
- wsftpext.dll
- RelNotes.html
- Trial_RT.exe

Thanks!

Jason

I installed it.

Restarted my computer.  WS_FTP Pro would not open.  It was missing a .dll.  Had to do a system restore.

So now I have Pro 2007 0.0.0 - 2006.06.22 back. File Transfer Client for Windows (2000/XP/2003)

Any thoughts?

Take care.  Cheyenne

Cheyenne,
Try this:
Reboot your computer
Unzip these files into your WS_FTP install directory and replace the ones there.
Run the file "Trial_RT.exe".
You should be all set!

Let me know if you have any issues with this method. Thanks,

Jason

Important Note!
If you are running the Non-Licensed Key (NLK) version of WS_FTP Pro 2007, you cannot use these files as they are injected with license key protected code.
