Ok, here is the deal.  The What's Up Gold "expert" is "no longer with us".  We created a new map and then connected it to the parent map, but we can't figure out how to get the new map to actually SHOW UP on the parent map.  If we click on view parent map, it changes to the parent map correctly, but we can't see the child map on it.  Any suggestions?

P.S.  We now have the child map showing, but we're having a new problem (and I'm leaving the old question up in case the problem is because we did it wrong ).  When we open the child map all the nice little switches are green, but the "child map" icon on the parent map is still grey.  Why is it that the child map is monitoring the individual switches, but the parent map is not reflecting that everything is up and running?

Thanks, Me.

Well, I'm still fairly new to WUG. Only been using it about 6 months. But I think I have a solution to your problem. On the parent map make sure your out of edit mode and make sure you hit the little green checkmark on the toolbar at the top. That will manually tell the map top poll everything on it. This usually takes care of the gray icon problem for me. I could be completely wrong on this and you could be having a different problem. But it's worth a shot.

I don't see what version you're using but try this:

If I remember correctly (in version 8?) you can save maps files in two formats, XML and another format, I forget the extension. Try opening the parent map for editing then saving the parent map in the proprietary format then open again and go back to the XML.
