| | Can anyone tell me if IPSwitch IM has a client for linux? Does it use any common protocol (ie. SIP/Jabber) or is it proprietary? |

I mean I'd go for any reduced functionality just to have a client that can at least chat to my windows counterparts. Like others on here... I have to keep a copy of Vmware Server running on my Linux box just so that I can have a copy of windows to run IpSwitch. Really a shame. Surely their functionality is not so unique that it's not a simple matter of tweaking the source for Linux.
The skinning eliminated most if not all of the reliance on windows standard controls or at least it appears that way. |

| If 'they' would be so kind as to provide the minimal specification to simply logon and exchange just chats, excluding file up load/down load I'd even be happy to take a crack at making a minimalist client for the linux world...

| I have been able to run it using WINE ( www.winehq.org ). It does come up errors, and what not maybe they could be fixed (dont know enough about wine yet).
This was on an Xubuntu system. |
