I'm not sure what caused it, but I can no longer run ws_ftp pro. The product was registered and working properly. Now, when I run it, I get the screen titled "WS_FTP Professional 2006.0.01 Product activation with the Type Trial License Key here greyed out as well as the Trial Registration Greyed out.

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling but no change.

HELP!

Thanks,

Peter Kellner

1. Close the software application

2. On your computer, go to C:\WINDOWS\system32

3. Locate the folder called E177E04D548C4006A465EEB92D3DE021

4. Look inside this folder and find the subfolder named License-DLL.

5. Count the number of subfolder in the License-DLL folder. If there is only
one proceed to step 5. If there is more than one folder please do not
proceed, instead contact Technical Support.

6. Assuming you only have one subfolder inside the License-DLL folder, go
back to the folder named E177E04D548C4006A465EEB92D3DE021 and rename it. It
does not matter what you name it, "test" is fine.

7. Go into the software application directory and execute the file called
trial_rt.exe.

8. Launch the software and the fields should no longer be grayed out. If
they are, contact Technical Support.

I have just had this happen to me as well. I have two folders apparently created back in 2005, one folder has a file in it apparently created today, the other folder is empty. The software already has a paid license, so there should be no need to rerun the trial wizard!

How can I regain functionality? My software was working fine up to a few days ago, and now it isn't. The only change I made was to go from fat32 to NTFS.

I did the exact same thing you did changing from fat32 to ntfs.  After waiting for 45 minutes on hold, this is the fix I received from technical support.

1.  Go to C:\WINDOWS\system32 and rename the folder named E177E04D548C4006A465EEB92D3DE021 to E177E04D548C4006A465EEB92D3DE021old.

2.  Go to C:\Program Files\Ipswitch\WS_FTP Professional and run trial_rt.exe.  Nothing happens, but just run it once.

3.  Open WS FTP and go through the activation portion including inserting your License Key.

You are welcome.
