Hello.

I have used the trial version of WS FTP for a school web site that I had to create.  I enjoyed working with it.  But now that the trial has expired, I would like to remove the program from my hard drive.  I have gone to the Windows control panel, add/remove programs, located the program, and clicked on remove and I get this error message: "Error loading C:\PROGRA~1\COMMON~1\INSTAL~1\PROFES~1\RunTime\09\01\Intel32\Ctor.dll    The specified module could not be found."  I even tried something crazy like doing a search on my HD for that Ctor.dll file, and I think I found it somewhere in another folder, so I copied and pasted it to the Intel32 folder that this error message was referring to, to see if it helped, but it still didn't work.  I have also tried just deleting the folder directly out of my Program Files folder, but it gives me another error message: "Cannot delete libeay32.dll: Access is denied.  Make sure the disk is not full or write-protected and that the file is not currently in use."   Well I don't see how the file could be in use, because the program is not open.  And I don't know what the write protection clause means.  All I want is to remove the program and all of its remnants, because I am running low on disk space.  Does anyone have some useful suggestions?

Thank you!

~Celeste

Celeste,

This error indicates that the InstallShield runtime is corrupt.

Here is a possible solution:
- Delete this directory
C:\PROGRA~1\COMMON~1\INSTAL~1\PROFES~1\RunTime\09\01
- Run the install again (this will reinstall the InstallShield runtime.
- Uninstall Ipswitch WS_FTP Professional

Regards,

Joe
