I loaded up my WS_FTP Home program recently and both the local side and the web server side displayed the "Blank Connection Pane." This is the primarily white page that has a link to "open a remote connection."

I'm able to open the my freeyellow web server on the right hand side but, I don't know how to open up my local C folder in the left hand side. Anyone have any suggestions?

Any help or insight is much appreciated!

What version are you using? I think this was fixed in 2006.0.1.

Here is a work-around:
- Open regedit (Start->Run regedit)
- Delete the following registry key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Ipswitch\WS_FTP Home\LastState

Joe

IT WORKED!

Thanks so much! I really appreciate it. Ipswitch wouldn't even talk to me because I hadn't purchased a support contract.

Well actually we did talk to you, as I am a developer with Ipswitch.

Glad it worked and have a nice Thanksgiving.

Regards,

Joe

ooo cool! That explains your extensive knowledge.

Well, the online help is certainly better than the phone help, then.

I appreciate it!

I had the same trouble. I tried the solution provided. It didn't work. Then I tried uploading an update and found out they wanted $$$$ so, loaded it in evaluation format to see if it gave me better results. I think it overwrote the old copy, so probably got jinxed on that attempt....and the updated version did exactly the same thing. BLANK PANE and no way of me accessing files on my computer. So, out of this so far, I still can't do anything and it will probably cost me a fee to be able to be back to where I was before this all started.

Stuck and FRUSTRATED>

It didn't work for me initially either. But, it was because I had the program open at the time. Make sure everything's all closed out and then go through the steps listed above. Hope it works for you!
