| Here is the scenario: I have Imail server version 8.12 and use MS Outlook for the email clients
Using Outlook, a user (oreynoso) sends an email to 2 receiptients. One of the receipients is invalid (email address mis-typed).
08:31 08:23 SMTPD(980f03a900dab4c3) Authenticated oreynoso@mail.cvoc.org, session treated as local. 08:31 08:23 SMTPD(980f03a900dab4c3) [67.118.198.112] MAIL FROM: oreynoso@cvoc.org 08:31 08:23 SMTPD(980f03a900dab4c3) [67.118.198.112] RCPT TO: jjepson@cvoc.org 08:31 08:23 SMTPD(980f03a900dab4c3) [67.118.198.112] RCPT TO: jwarrenj@cvoc.org 08:31 08:23 SMTPD(980f03a900dab4c3) [67.118.198.112] ERR mail.cvoc.org invalid user jwarrenj@cvoc.org
Imail tries to resend the message a few minutes later, again imail reports the invalid user:
08:31 08:28 SMTPD(993a03b200dab4cd) Authenticated oreynoso@mail.cvoc.org, session treated as local. 08:31 08:28 SMTPD(993a03b200dab4cd) [67.118.198.112] MAIL FROM: oreynoso@cvoc.org 08:31 08:28 SMTPD(993a03b200dab4cd) [67.118.198.112] RCPT TO: jjepson@cvoc.org 08:31 08:28 SMTPD(993a03b200dab4cd) [67.118.198.112] RCPT TO: jwarrenj@cvoc.org 08:31 08:28 SMTPD(993a03b200dab4cd) [67.118.198.112] ERR mail.cvoc.org invalid user jwarrenj@cvoc.org
Now the user that sent the message to the invalid user sends another message. Imail tries again to send the message to the invalid user, and sends the new message to the intended receipient (lteixeira) and the valid user from the original email (jjepson):
08:31 08:29 SMTPD(993f03b300dab4ce) Authenticated oreynoso@mail.cvoc.org, session treated as local. 08:31 08:29 SMTPD(993f03b300dab4ce) [67.118.198.112] MAIL FROM: oreynoso@cvoc.org 08:31 08:29 SMTPD(993f03b300dab4ce) [67.118.198.112] RCPT TO: jjepson@cvoc.org 08:31 08:29 SMTPD(993f03b300dab4ce) [67.118.198.112] RCPT TO: jwarrenj@cvoc.org 08:31 08:29 SMTPD(993f03b300dab4ce) [67.118.198.112] ERR mail.cvoc.org invalid user jwarrenj@cvoc.org 08:31 08:29 SMTPD(993f03b300dab4ce) [67.118.198.112] MAIL FROM: oreynoso@cvoc.org 08:31 08:29 SMTPD(993f03b300dab4ce) [67.118.198.112] RCPT TO: lteixeira@cvoc.org 08:31 08:29 SMTPD(993f03b300dab4ce) [67.118.198.112] MAIL FROM: oreynoso@cvoc.org 08:31 08:29 SMTPD(993f03b300dab4ce) [67.118.198.112] RCPT TO: jjepson@cvoc.org 08:31 08:29 SMTPD(993f03b300dab4ce) [67.118.198.112] RCPT TO: lteixeira@cvoc.org
This will continue to happen with every email sent by oreynoso until the message to the invalid user is removed from her outbox (Outlook) This is causing a major headache for me as a couple of sensitive emails went to the wrong party
Does anybody know how to fix this?

| IIRC, this is an Outlook issue from many years ago -- it sees that the one address cannot be delivered, and stops the entire E-mail. -Scott --- Declude JunkMail: The advanced anti-spam solution for IMail mailservers since 2000.
