My servers are in the UK, but unless I use US date format in the log viewer, i get no records, which really isn't acceptable.

ian

RE: WSFTP + SSH Looses the Log View!!

Hi, I was suffering with the same problem, to get round this i had to edit the LogViewerDetails.asp in the FTP folder

the 2 lines that i changed were

line 191:    start = sMonth + "/" + sDay + "/" + d.getFullYear();

TO

                start = sDay + "/" + sMonth + "/" + d.getFullYear();

and

Line 214:    end = sMonth + "/" + sDay + "/" + d.getFullYear();

TO

                end = sDay + "/" + sMonth + "/" + d.getFullYear();

This fixed the issue for the UK date issue in the log files. hopefully Ipswitch may fix this in an update at some point.

Don't forget to back up the original file first just in case. :)

Steve.

RE: WSFTP + SSH Looses the Log View!!

I'm having the same issue as well, the log viewer doesn't show any current logs if I try to pick a recent date.

If I pick Apr 1 to Apr 30 (last month).... it shows me stuff from Jan 4, Jan 5, Jan 6... which leads to believe this is some sort of date format issue (4/1/2008) vs (1/4/2008).

We're in Canada and we have English(Canada) set for time/date formatting set in the Regional and Language Options.

RE: WSFTP + SSH Looses the Log View!!

I also still have this issue, cant see any logs unless I select the calander and select 4 months ago to start and 4 months in the future to finish, and then spend 10 minutes clicking next until I get the current logs, its a right pain. WS FTP server with SSH (v6.1) and logs stopped showing. I checked and server makes logs, but log viewer cannot show them. All it shows is empty results with text that nothing matched with filter.

RE: WSFTP + SSH Looses the Log View!!

I am glad I could help.
Please keep us up to date. :-)

regards,

Camaleonte

RE: WSFTP + SSH Looses the Log View!!

Hello <A class=SmlBoldLinks id=ctl02_ctlTopic_ctlPanelBar_ctlTopicsRepeater_ctl14_smAuthorName onmouseover="window.status = window.location;return true;" title="View Camaleonte's Profile..." onmouseout="window.status='';return true;" href="void('');">Camaleonte,

Thanks for your post and feedback/discovery. I think that this started as well at about the same time when I start using the SSH myself. I did not open that port before and no one was using SSH.
Maybe it has to do with the use of more listeners???
Interesting!!
But I got no news from anyone so far!

I am sure Ipswitch with look at this Forum sooner or later.

Lets hope!

Bye

Camaleonte
RE: WSFTP + SSH Looses the Log View!!

Are there plug in replacements for the standard, 6.0 logging server?

I don't like logging in XML.

I'd prefer to log to a database table.

I don't like the functionality of the built-in log viewer.

Ideally, I would have a logging server on the same port that writes data back to the PostgreSQL database that's already installed or one of our MSSQL boxes.

RE: WSFTP + SSH Looses the Log View!!

You got any closer to a fix on this? I can open them with notepad.
But I cannot figure out what caused the Log view to never return any results no matter what day and time I choose!
I restarted the services, the machine... nothing!

Anyone had that experience and/or have a possible help/solution for me?
Possibly NOT reinstalling the server!!! That would be the ultimate solution!! :-)
I believe is a quite good and stable FTP server... But I need my logs!

Thanks,

Camaleonte
