what I meant by details is this....explain to them(web site Host) your complete situation....include any and all information you have and if need be get others from your organization to verify your authority in regards to you taking over the web site....

or Google ....( password decryption ws ftp )

I have the IP address and the username, and that's it (besides the saved password)

contact the administrator of the website server (Host), provide them with the details and they should have no problem retrieving the password for you.....

Well, some of you may say that I'm trying to steal, hack, whatever. I don't care, that's not the case.

One of the organizations I belong to has a website. The problem is, however, that this website hasn't been updated in two years.

So, in trying to get it back up, they want me to try to update everything. This naturally would be fine, if only I had the password to access the server.

The last webmaster (of 2 years past) had the password saved in WS_FTP. However, this is also the password to access the server management at the hosting website.

I've asked around, and literally no one knows what the password is. And the financial records as to what the account number was (to recover the password) have disappeared.

So, here's the question.

Is there any way to extract the password from the program?
