When I first reinstalled I didn't delete the configuration file - tried a second time with a total clean install. All works fine so assumption must be that configuration file was corrupt.

Oh the joys of dumb technology......

RE: Upload slow and then 0kb in file

I have found that in the past if a file transferrs and is 0kb then it was the mode in which it was transferred that was at fault...check to make sure you are transferring in either ACSII or Binary for your files.....with WS FTP Pro I just use the 'Auto' mode...

from the "Help" section....

Working with transfer modes

Files can be transferred in ASCII, binary, or "Auto" mode.

A file that is text, HTML, postscript, other ASCII format (.txt, .html, .htm, .cgi), or EBCDIC should be transferred in ASCII mode. Note: Transferring a binary file in ASCII format can damage the file.

A file that is a bitmap, an executable, or compressed (.bmp, .jpg, .exe, .zip) should be transferred in binary mode . (Binary mode should also be used if there is no file extension or the file extension is not registered.)

If you select Auto mode, WS_FTP checks to see if the file has an extension that is listed on the ASCII Filenames dialog. If so, ASCII mode is used; if not, binary mode is used.

Selecting the Transfer Mode

You can set the startup transfer mode for a site, folder, or the application. Restarted Belkin Pre-N router 1001UK and now uploads 100% (slowly) but 0kb appears on web site. Turned off firewall on router and Norton Internet but no luck. Also downloaded 2007 ver.

Tried direct modem connect without router and all OK! But need router

Your thoughts?
