It's a forum for users of Ipswitch products to communicate with each other about the product. There are some of us from Ipswitch who participate in the forums, but we do so as a courtesy.

If you need official technical support, you have to contact our technical support staff.

For your specific issue, are you referring the folder located here:
C:\Documents and Settings\{username}\Application Data\Ipswitch\WS_FTP\Storage?

If so, this folder is used by Ipswitch to store files that are only needed temporarily -- sort of like the web browser's cache folder. If you transfer a file to this folder by viewing it or by using the active edit feature, it will be removed when you close the browser.

If you want to transfer a file, you should transfer it into a local folder, not just view or edit it on the remote pane.

RE: Missing Files

If there is a Forum Administrator monitoring this forum just a couple of things

I did send you a personal message regarding the problem I had. No response

My topic in this forum has received no response and this issue was raised by someone else and

he received no response either.

I am currently trialling your program and if you would expect me to hand over the readies based

on your lack of support you are mistaken

There are plenty of other FTP programs out there and I hope they can provide better support than you do

Missing Files

This question has been asked before but received no answer.

Just downloaded a big 2.00 gig file which was sitting in the storage subdirectory

of the Ipswitch main directory. I closed the Ipswitch application and the file dissapeared (not impressed).

I tried a smaller file and the same thing happens , As soon as you close the application all files In the storage directory are deleted and do not end up in the recycle bin. Can someone tell me why and what for . I was considering buying this program but I need this problem sorted out.

Any help would be appreciated.
