Blank Connection Pane on Left

Suddenly I've got a "blank connection pane" on the left and can't access any folders on my computer. The right section is fine - it logs into my website areas just fine.

How do I reaccess my local folders? (i.e. get rid of this "blank connection pane")

About two years ago, I had this same problem, and someone told me the trick! Hopefully someone knows.

Transfer to New Computer

I just got a new computer, and I have installed ftp home to the computer, but I have about 20 websites set up on my old computer. Any ideas how to export the settings for each to import them into the new computer? Thanks in advance -- I really don't want to track down all of those pesky passwords.... :)

Right click get error Failed to load resource dll

Hi,

Since installing ws-ftp 12 whenever I right click a file I get the error message "Failed to Load Resource DLL" I tried uninstalling ws-ftp and there was no error--reinstalled the program and the error came back. Does anyone know how I can resolve this issue. It is very annoying.

I have an email support ticket in but I thought I would ask here in the meantime.

Failed to load resource DLL & Right-Click issues

After installing version 12.2, i continually get a "failed to load resource dll" error when attempting to right-click on any file or folder throughout my computer. It also effects my ability to drag and drop files such as pictures from one folder to another. After removing WS FTP, everything is back to normal. I really want to continue to use this product but it is impossible to operate my computer with these issues. I am using Window 7 on a 64 bit system. It worked well on my 32 bit XP Pro machine. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

I'm trying to upload large file and half way through it gets dropped! I reconnect select resume, but it won't pick up where it left off.

The log file says..

Help WS FTP 12 keeps jamming

Hi everbody

I have used WS_FTP LE 6 for ages and found it 100% reliable.

I just downloaded version 12 and its a good looking program... but... it keeps locking up when uploading files. It uploads 3 or 4 files then sticks. Sometimes it says the remote server blocked me, sometimes it says socket error.

I can upload, but I have to do one file at a time. But my site has 2800 files (not funny!)

I am searching for an old version 6 to download, but not found one yet.

Anyone got any ideas whats happening???

I use WS FTP Home to upload files to my Go Daddy domain space. It is a .net. I put files up there and I send links like this, http://abcd.net/music/song.mp3.
When a user chooses the link the file opens. There is no choice. The same for video files.

How do I make it so folks have a choice to open or save?

HTTP 403 Error

One of my websites is currently invisible because I am getting an error HTTP 403. It has worked before, but when I amended some of the pages it stopped. The other website is fine. I've looked on the internet, but there doesn't seem to be an answer in plain English.

Any thoughts please. Be gentle, I'm relatively inexperienced.

Wrong Year in Date of Transferred Files

When transferring files, the dates are suddenly showing up as 2010 instead of 2011 on the remote site. Files transferred prior to 6:50pm (Central Time) today have the correct date, but all files transferred later have the wrong year. This happens with different remote servers. I've tried restarting my computer and checked that the system date is correct. Any ideas about what might be causing this?

Problem deleting files

Unable to view local drives

Now when I start WS_FTP I do no see my local drives in the left hand pane.
I have 2 Blank Connection Panes.
How do I get the local drives back in the left hand pane.

I cannot log into my ftp file with WSFTP. If I go to the Roadrunner ftp, I can log on successfully. The failure message is: 530 Invalid userid/password. ! Logon failure, so quitting. The host name is ftp.ipswitch.com.

Help copying folders from a local to a remote site!!!

I am attempting to copy a sub folder and all files in it from a local site to a remote site using RPUT. I can get the files to copy but I need to have the folder to copy over with the files in it. The name of the subfolder changes each day. Here is how I am formatting it:

RPUT d:\[1st level]\[2nd level]\*.* /[1st level remote]/rop/.

The folder I am attempting to copy is in the [2nd level] folder and I want to copy it to the rop folder. The log records a failure in the command. Can anyone help?

I have checked all my settings and everything is filled in as it was before yet when I try to connect to ftp.btinternet.com I get a connect failure message.

I can't work out why I could connect a couple of days ago but can't now.

Can't access my WS Ftp Home. Clicking on icon to access program brings up a form asking for original license key and serial number, BUT, that form will not accept any input.

Have reinstalled program but that didn't change anything. Tried this as a reinstall without deleting original installation.

All files seem to be present under Ipswitch and Home in the Program files section

Is there an application that will extract logon data from WS FTP for the several hosts I use before I try to erase and do a new install.... OR.... is that something I shouldn't try yet?

Figured a reinstall would fix things. It didn't. Now I am buffaloed as to what to do.

I had WS-FTP Pro 2007 installed on my PC along with WS-FTP LE 6, with the installation of WS-FTP 12 LE (I guess I downloaded it to the wrong folder) it replaced my Pro 2007 but, imported my "sites". So, it looks like I am stuck with WS-FTP LE for the next year after which I will stick with it or revert back to WS-FTP Pro 2007 via the MYIPSWITCH account download.

Can't edit my files

I am still using WSFTP LE 6.0 the free version. It seemed to be working fine but suddenly I can no longer save my edited files. I can open and view in Notepad and make changes and save it. But when I re open my changes are not saved! When I move the file to the Local System on the left side I cannot view it on Notepad as it says file does not exist. What happened? Can this programme no longer be used?

Server side window not showing files/folders

I am using WS FTP HOme 2007 on Windows xp
Just recently, some folders are not being displayed on the server side, in fact the window is empty. I have retransferred the folders/files from my computer to the server, but the server side window fails to display the files/subfolders in the folders.

The files have actually been transferred to the server, because the website is being updated, but why can I no longer view the folders details on the server side window.

This is happening with folders of images and monthly calendars. When I first open up the WS FTP Home software and log in, all the folders are displayed, just when I click on a folder to open it up, it appears to be empty of files/subfolders.

Hopefully I have included enough info to understand my problem

I have a Family History Site and have used the WS_FTP95 system for several years, until now, when it has been discontinued. I have downloaded the WS_FTP Home on trial, with the intent to buy later. My problem is that when I try to transfer a file from Freespace to My Computer,it says 'File already exists - Select an option - Replace File or Overwrite and whichever option I choose nothing happens. I use Windows Vista and at this moment in time, I haven't uninstalled the WS_FTP95. Thank you

Change Sounds

Greetings,

How do I change/remove sounds?

The Sounds option in Control Panel lists fourteen sounds. For example:

WSFTP_ChgUp
WSFTP_ConFail
WSFTP_ConGood
WSFTP_DelDir...

And so forth. However, none of these Program Events have a sound assigned to them.

I'm trying to get rid the connect and transfer sound. I only want to hear a sound when there is an error.

I downloaded and installed WS_FTP_Home 30-Day Trial and it won't let me in..

Keeps asking me for a serial number but I have none and don't know how to get one to activate the trial.

How can an Evaluation Copy need a serial if it is the first time I have ever loaded in onto this computer??

Internet Explorer Shuts Down & Anti-Spam Stopped Working

I installed WS FTP Home 12 a few days ago and the product works wonderfully. However, after browser my website a few minutes, an Internet Explorer message stating "Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to shut down", appears every time and does in fact close the window. Also, since the day I installed the WS FTP product, my Norton anti-spam has stopped working. I'm using Windows XP, Internet Explorer 6 and Norton Internet Security. Any ideas on what's causing these problems and how to fix them? Thank you.

Local search not seeing my desktop

Hi, I am able to connect to my server but the local search in the left hand pane is empty, and the local search icon in the tool bar is greyed out.

e.g. I'm looking for C:\Users\Ellese\Desktop but I don't see any file at all in the left pane.

Anyone got any ideas why this is and how I can fix it?

Adding tabs in local view

Help file gives the following instructions for creating multiple tabs in local view: "In the local system on the left side of the main window, you see the My Computer tab. To open a second view, in the toolbar, select New Local View. A second My Computer tab appears." For the life of me, I cannot find "New Local View" in any toolbar or menu. Is this feature available only in WS_FTP Pro? I have WS_FTP Home 12.2. If this feature is available in the Home version, could someone please help me with what I'm doing wrong? If it's only available in Pro, the Help file needs to be corrected. Thanks.

Sometimes, I have more than a dozen open, all the same, but the "x" is not available to close them.

I've changed the Auto reconnect (options). No help.

I can connect using the free software Filezilla, but I'd rather use WS_FTP, which I paid for.
