Queue Manger Crashes from Time to Time

No API logs are created. Get the message when I happen to log into server's console.

collaboration contacts

I have a collaboration group of contacts

it was ok with workgroupsdhare in outlook
but it is not avaibale in web iclient - only own contacts

the list of public contacts is readable in web admin/public folder/edit !

but not with iclient (lite or no !)

why ?

System.OutofMemory Exception in DATA Command

There is a pattern to this problem:

a) The 3 times I have researched, each time the SAME sender and recipients are involved!

b) Every time the sender has had an SMTP session open for 20 minutes or longer, apparently submitting message to the same number of recipients over and over – often 2 minutes apart! So either, the connection is VERY slow, or the messages are VERY large, or Imail is slowing down due to some constraint.
When I ping this user's IP address I get very fast responses with 15 ms, so looks like FIOS or DSL to me.

c) Each time the “session id” in the log changes constantly during those 20 minutes.

d) Each time the SMTP service eventually hangs with OutOfMemory and needs to be restarted by hand.

e) I found a D and T file for the Queue ID that was hanging – but unfortunately, they are 0 length (likely because the service was unable to close them).

New Beta / ActivSync

I just installed the new Beta and it broke the ability for user to sync with mobile devices. Says that I don't have any ActivSync Licenses and can't enable activsync for users even though the users show as already enabled. Attempting to sync the device says invalid password even though the password is correct.

IPhone cannot connect to server

Iphone is connected on our LAN via local Wireless AP,
Iphone workes perfectly with exchange accounts
with only difference being the IMail beta and the IP address, i get "connot get mail, connection to the server failed"

Added a "host a" record on DNS internally, and use the IP address of the IMail beta server

checked ActiveSync in IIS

also logged in via web page to check username and password

all ok

any ideas

As you can see from this log:

1. The log "session id" changes from 03b400006b36aa7d to be3600006b36aa82 - which makes it hard to track this whole inicdent in the log files during peak times.

2. Imail repeatedly tries to access an already disposed object - which is a logic flaw (don't know what other subsequent stack/resource problems that causes!)

List Server garbles BASE64 encoded messages from Blackberries

This is becoming a REAL big issue now. Apparently, blackberry devices format emails as text (not as MIME segments) with Base64 encoding. Messages sent directly to recipients are correctly decoded by Outlook and similar email clients.

However, when the same Blackberry users sends his email to an Imail List, then the redistributed emails are illegible to the recipients:

IMAP4 Service Crashes once a day

This is not a new problem, I just never had the energy to pursue it. It's been happening for years and with every new IMail release I hope that some rewrite will finally catch it accidentally - but no such luck.

Of course, I have server monitoring with an auto-restart of the IMAP4 service in place - so it's merely an "annoyance".

What surprises me most is, that there simply is no application log entry to match this crash - nor is there anything in the Imail SYS log or API log for that timeframe. What can we do to finally track this down?

In fact, the SYS*.log file contains plenty of POP3 log entries but not a SINGLE IMAP entry - even though logging appears to be turned on and points to the SYS*.log file.

ActivSync Issue w/ iPhone / Firewall Ports

I am running Imail 11.01 TPP and am trying to get ActivSync working with iPhone. It works fine while connected to local wifi but fails with the error "Cannot Get Mail. The connection to the sever failed." when connecting from anywhere else.

I have the following ports open in my firewall.

SMTP (Send E-Mail) TCP 25

I have read that activsync only requires 80/443, but can't think of anything other than firewall issues that would cause it to work locally but not from remote.

11.01 TPP creates SYS*.TXT with "attachment blocking" log entries in root of boot drive

Each Day, the 11.01 TPP creates a SYSmmdd.TXT log file in the root of my boot drive (C:\) instead of adding those log lines to the D:\Imail\Spool\SYSmmdd.TXT, where they belong.

Oddly enough every day these log files END at 6:07 AM!

11.01 TPP Installation issues / iPhone configuration

I just downloaded and installed the 11.01 TPP beta. I installed the software in a VM separate from my production server so it is a "new" installation. I had the following issues:

1. No Premium Antivirus installed.

2. Workgroup share service did not start after installation until I rebooted server.

3. I am able to send and receive email using my iPhone, but this release is supposed to support calendar/contact syncing with iPhone... I am sure this is a client configuration issue, but I can't find any docs on what to do on the iPhone to allow the contacts and calendar to sync. I read thru the getting started guide and even download the PDF version and searched for terms like sync and iPhone, but couldn't not find any information to get this working.

TPP 11.01 installer STILL does not install SMTP DLLs/EXEs

Hi,

there is something REALLY big wrong with your 11.x installer. When I installed 11.0 initially, it had NOT installed the SMTP server. Your tech support had instructions handy on how to manually download the programs, register the DLLs to get the service installed. So this was already a known problem 3 months ago!

Apparently you STILL did not fix this problem for 11.01? Because Tom Lewis had me run the REPAIR twice (once on Sunday, after I initially installed the 11.01 "upgrade", and then again last night). While most DLLs are updated to 7/22/09 by the REPAIR, these three DLLs are NOT replaced and continue to remain on the 7/16/2009 file date - rendering the entire TPP worthless:

11.01 TPP Installation did not upgrade!

Hi,

I just ran the setup for 11.01 TPP. It didn't offer man an upgrade from 11.0.0. Instead it offered to change the current setup, or to repair the already installed options, or to uninstall.

I didn't need to repair, so I picked the first of the 3 choice that allowed me to review and change the currently installed options. I added the "Workgroupshare" (since I didn't have that installed before).

It then proceeded with several IIS and service restart prompts, spend a few minutes on permissiosn and eventually finished. NONE Of the DLLs had been updated.

Subsequently I chose "REPAIR", which apparently DID upgrade the DLLs.

NOT an intiuitive install process at all. 11.01 should detect what's currently running and then offer UPGRADE as a choice!

What did I do wrong?

SMTP recieve problem from IIS SMTP Server - Fixed

I had been experiancing a delay problem with random emails that were received by IIS SMTP gateway servers.

Ramdom (as far as I could tell) emails were setting in the IIS SMTP SRV queue folders and not delivered to Imail.

Due to the basicness of the IIS SMTP logs, I was unable to see what was happening.

After installing 11.01 beta, the delays are gone.
