﻿<?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8'?><rss version="2.0" xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/"><channel><title>Ipswitch Forums / File Transfer / WS_FTP Professional  / Problem with filename handling / Latest Posts</title><generator>InstantForum.NET v4.1.4</generator><description>Ipswitch Forums</description><link>http://forums.ipswitch.com/</link><webMaster>forums@ipswitch.com</webMaster><lastBuildDate>Thu, 04 Dec 2008 14:48:50 GMT</lastBuildDate><ttl>20</ttl><item><title>Problem with filename handling</title><link>http://forums.ipswitch.com/Topic721-6-1.aspx</link><description>&lt;P&gt;I'm using WS_FTP Pro on Windows XP (Traditional Chinese).&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I find that WS_FTP 9 seems to be unable to handle filename/pathname properly with Chinese characters.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;An example is that I can never transfer file to/from my desktop, since "Desktop" folder is named in Chinese in Chinese Windows XP.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;File upload from desktop: transfer failed (error: 1004), only an empty file is created on the remote side.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;File download to desktop: transfer succeeded but no file is really created.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I guess WS_FTP has done some transformation with the path/filename (e.g. lowercase) before using it.
