My startup time was running about 5 minutes (measured). I started closing all the remote sites when I shut down WS_FTP. Now it starts almost immediately. I can access those same sites, again, almost immediately. I don't know what is wrong, only the work around that succeeds for me.

RE: WSFTP Pro painfully slow to load

I am thinking there are either transfer that are starting up or multiple sites being established on startup. If you go into C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Application Data\Ipswitch\WS_FTP and remove the transferhistory.dat and the requests.dat, this may help. Also, try changing the startup setting under tools - options- auto reconnect to open blank workspace. Let me know if these help.

RE: WSFTP Pro painfully slow to load

look in the Transfer Manager for jobs that are stuck and delete them.

WSFTP Pro painfully slow to load

I have Pro 2007 on a Windows XP (home) computer with plenty of memory. The program can take a minute or two before it opens. It will give me a (Not Responding) message at the top and just hang there. Then after what seems like an indeterminable time, it will open. Once it opens, it works perfectly. But it can be annoying waiting for a long time before I can work. I had this problem with the last version as well. I have installed the program on my laptop and it has the same problem. I've searched the board for advice and find it hard to believe that I am the only one who has this problem. Anyone have any ideas on this?
