I solved the problem earlier today as a matter of fact. Turns out the problem is with the certificate exchange. On the PC that won't work I had to uninstall WS FTP Pro, remove all the directories (even the hidden ones), reboot, then do a fresh install. The first time connecting to the site in question you're asked to accept a certificate from the FTP server. This did not happen when the connection failed. When the connection failed there where no log events indicating what the problem was. A Sniffer trace didn't reveal anything either.

Note: If a user has connections defined you should save the *.ini files from the user directory to a temp location before deleting the directory structure. The path is "C:\Documents and Settings\"user_name.domain"\Application Data\Ipswitch\WS_FTP\Sites".

Thanks for your reply.

RE: FTP/SSL (AUTH)

Hey Wahoo,

Are you able to connect to any server's using AUTH SSL from this machine?

Julie

FTP/SSL (AUTH)

I have 2 machines with WS FTP Pro, same version, 8.02 2003.09.02.
