Often if you involve the security team to open a firewall ports, they will want the whole product security tested etc.

Is it possible to set up the system to only use ports 80 and 443? I was thinking if the central web console is running under SSL only, then port 80 could be used for connection from the Remote Site to the Central Site??

Thanks in advance

RE: Changing from Port 80

The communication between remote sites and the central site happens on a different port than the web interface.
You can configure it from the console by going to Configure > Program Options: Select "Remote Site Configuration" and change the TCP Port under Central Site connection information. The default is 9394. You may have to open this port on your firewall if it is blocked. Also, make sure you change the port on the central site if you change it on the remote sites.

Jason

RE: Changing from Port 80

The communication between a remote site and the central site. Both are configurable.

Jason
Sleopold (8/28/2007)
I am testing in an enviorment wher I was already using port 80 on a set of servers. I thought this would open a tunnel and use common ports such as 8080. This works on N-Able quite well and we do not have to adjust firewall settings to do the installs and get the connections to work.

Am I missing something here.
Changing from Port 80

I am testing in an enviorment wher I was already using port 80 on a set of servers.
