This should not be confuse with devices (computers, routers, etc..) that has been discovered by "WUG Central Site" computer. If all computers that has the "WUG Remote Site" program are configure to use a specific "WUG Central Site" computer, these computer will be listed in the default workspace view called "Remote Sites" located on the Central Site Web admin.
-SV

Ipswitch WUG Team

RE: Information on WUG MSP Technical Preview

<DIV id=ctl02_ctlTopic_ctlPanelBar_ctlTopicsRepeater_ctl10_smAuthorName_SimpleMenuDivLayer onmouseover="InstantASP_OpenMenuMouseOver('ctl02_ctlTopic_ctlPanelBar_ctlTopicsRepeater_ctl10_smAuthorName','ctl02_ctlTopic_ctlPanelBar_ctlTopicsRepeater_ctl10_smAuthorName_SimpleMenuDivLayer','

<a href=UserInfo12093.aspx Class=\'SmlLinks\' Title=\'View Member\s Profile\'>View Member\'s Profile

<a href=BuddyIgnoreList1.aspx?Username=JMPARIS Class=\'SmlLinks\' Title=\'Add to Buddy List\'>Add to Buddy List

<a href=__doPostBack(\'butSendPrivateMessage\',\'12093\'); onmouseover=\'window.status=window.location;return true;\'; onmouseout=window.status=\'\';return true; Class=\'SmlLinks\' Title=\'Send Private Message\'>Send Private Message

<a href=__doPostBack(\'butSendEmail\',\'12093\'); onmouseover=\'window.status=window.location;return true;\'; onmouseout=window.status=\'\';return true; Class=\'SmlLinks\' Title=\'Send Email To Member\'>Send Email To Member

<a href=__doPostBack(\'butShowMemberPosts\',\'12093\'); onmouseover=\'window.status=window.location;return true;\'; onmouseout=window.status=\'\';return true; Class=\'SmlLinks\' Title=\'Find All Member\s Posts\'>Find All Member\'s Posts

','165px');" style="DISPLAY: inline" onclick="InstantASP_OpenMenu('ctl02_ctlTopic_ctlPanelBar_ctlTopicsRepeater_ctl10_smAuthorName','ctl02_ctlTopic_ctlPanelBar_ctlTopicsRepeater_ctl10_smAuthorName_SimpleMenuDivLayer','

<a href=UserInfo12093.aspx Class=\'SmlLinks\' Title=\'View Member\s Profile\'>View Member\'s Profile

<a href=BuddyIgnoreList1.aspx?Username=JMPARIS Class=\'SmlLinks\' Title=\'Add to Buddy List\'>Add to Buddy List

<a href=__doPostBack(\'butSendPrivateMessage\',\'12093\'); onmouseover=\'window.status=window.location;return true;\'; onmouseout=window.status=\'\';return true; Class=\'SmlLinks\' Title=\'Send Private Message\'>Send Private Message

<a href=__doPostBack(\'butSendEmail\',\'12093\'); onmouseover=\'window.status=window.location;return true;\'; onmouseout=window.status=\'\';return true; Class=\'SmlLinks\' Title=\'Send Email To Member\'>Send Email To Member

<a href=__doPostBack(\'butShowMemberPosts\',\'12093\'); onmouseover=\'window.status=window.location;return true;\'; onmouseout=window.status=\'\';return true; Class=\'SmlLinks\' Title=\'Find All Member\s Posts\'>Find All Member\'s Posts

','165px');"><A class=SmlBoldLinks id=ctl02_ctlTopic_ctlPanelBar_ctlTopicsRepeater_ctl10_smAuthorName onmouseover="window.status = window.location;return true;" title="View JMPARIS'S Profile..." onmouseout="window.status='';return true;" href="void('');">JMPARIS

Where on the central site are you not able to see remote sites? In order to view information for the remote locations, you must login to the web interface of the Central Site and configure Workspace Reports to show you the relevant info for each of the remote sites. You can find detailed info in the help and in the distributed deployment guide. Can you take a look and let us know if the info is not clear? There would then be the possibility of having customer (or probe) specific views of the data from the central server, with an all encompasing view for the MSP/Administrator.

Am i missing something obvious? I have been looking at n-able, LPI, OpManager, et al and they all seem to work in that sort of way.

:w00t:

RE: Information on WUG MSP Technical Preview

Thanks Avi,
Here are some responses:

#1: This is by design. For now it is only viewable via the web interface.

#2: This could be done with a small ASP change. Let me know if you want instructions.

#3: It will work with SQL 2005 but we haven't fully tested it with this version thus no "official" support.

#4: We have a feature request for this logged.

#5: This is on the roadmap but is not planned for this version.

#6: You shouldn't have to re-authenticate if you leave the browser window open. The authentication is cached until you close the browser window.

I hope this helps,

Jason
Abitterman (8/13/2007)
We are currently testing the WUG MSP Technical Preview.
