Question about secure file transfer

Hi all, I am running a large scale business and some time I have to transfer large and very important data files to my business partner. I fear about my data because there are many of my business competitors who will definitely try to steal my important data. So there is huge amount of risk involved in sharing my important data on Internet. I recently heard about secure file transfer technique from my friend who is working in well established software company. Does anyone have any idea about what is Secure File Transfer (SFT) service and how does it work?

Monitor an apc infrastraxure device - whatsup gold

i have trying to monitor an apc device with snmp trap,

i configure the snmp forwarding in my apc, but when i try to select

a MIB i see no value.

anyone have an idea what should i do?

Performance Monitor Error Log

I've created a performance monitor for several interfaces. However, I receive an error in the performance monitor error log that reads, "Performance Monitor Exception (nDevice=31,nPivotStatisticalMontorTypeToDeviceID=1086). The number 31 and 1086 vary depending on the device and interface that I'm looking at. I've created this monitor using the SNMPv3 credentials. This monitor tracks the amount of data being transmitted on a specific interface and due to the amount of traffic, I'm using the High Capacity counters within the MIB table. What can you tell me about this error msg, and how can I resolve this issue?

E-Mail Alert - Still no smtp authentication support

It would be very nice if there was support for smtp authentication, for e-mail alerts. More and more e-mail hosting companies are blocking unauthenticated due to spamming...

Information on WUG MSP Technical Preview

We are currently testing the WUG MSP Technical Preview. We deployed Level Platforms some time ago and really like the idea of moving to WUG. The big factor is getting Network Stats's for us.

Here are some of the questions/ concerns we have:

1. Not being able to see remote devices in the main central window.

2 Checking a remote site opens up a new browser window to the remote site.

3 No Support for SQL 2005 yet.

4 Not being able to apply a policy/action to a “Group”. Currently you have to apply it at the device level.

5 Are there no “realtime” gauges of any sort? Seems to only be last polled events.

6. Perhaps they can enable some sort of pass-through authentication when connecting to a remote site so I don’t have to re-enter my username/password?

We will continue with our tests.

Central Site Configuration for Remote Site

I can see several reasons why you would need more than one Remote-to-Central credentials.

1. When you need to roll out new passwords. If you have more than one set of credentials you don't have to update all remote sites at the same time as the central site.

2. Some companies requite different credentials for each device. This might include monitoring devices.

Portal Re-Branding

Is it possible to re-brand the Web Portal?

We were hoping that our customers could log into the application, but see it as our own portal, rather than the WUG portal?

Essentially, replacing logos with our logos etc on all the views and reports.

Changing from Port 80

I am testing in an enviorment wher I was already using port 80 on a set of servers. I thought this would open a tunnel and use common ports such as 8080. This works on N-Able quite well and we do not have to adjust firewall settings to do the installs and get the connections to work.

Am I missing something here.

How would you size your environment?

MSDE Not installing

I have tried to install the whats up premium package. I did all of the prerequisites for the MSDE Install and is still says it can not install refer to the release notes.

Is there an known issue here.

I tried to install it after I loaded MSDE as well and still got the same message.
