Issues in 2006:

1. Spam with images still comes through. They do not have any attachment sizing features with no text in document

2. Collaboration does not collaborate... Meaning hopefully workgroup calenders etc. retain their information or just plain error out.

3. Still have instances where webmail fails due to ASP code.

Lastly:... The most major one for EVERYONE TO KNOW ****

IPSwitch still lags months - years for implementing patches for their software and when they do, you have to pray that it doesn't blow up your server to where you have to uninstall and revert back to prior settings.

But anywho.. Here is the more important issue: Security Vulnerability Scan:

TCP PORT 110 (Pop3) The remote POP3 server is vulnerable to the following buffer overflow: USER test PASS

This can allow an attacker to execute arbitraty commands as root on the POP3 server.

CVE-1999-1511 BID: 791

Mind you, this is a buffer exploit since 1999 yet IMAIL still has yet to fix it.

Heck, if you have the prior version, you're susceptible so you might as well roll the dice anyway.

I have just let my "Support Contract" (You can call it what you will but will never get a response other than a moderator in the forum once in a blue moon as no one responds to mail or phone unless it is a sales call).

I would say save your money and use hmail or even spend the money for exchange if you could.

Upgrading from ICS 2.0 to ICS 2006

I believe I'm set to take down our mailserver this weekend in order to upgrade to 2006. Can anybody share with me their experience in this upgrade? Is is pretty straightforward?

Also, does anybody know if this newer version addresses the image spam issue?

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
