If you are using the brackets in the rule, they must be escaped otherwise the rule takes on a whole new meaning. For example, this rule:

s~[spam]:spam

does something quite different (and not desired) from:

s~\[spam\]:spam

RE: Premium Anti Spam False Positives

I have solved this.

In the knowledge base I followed the instructions to modify the header and not the subject line.

Now the rule seems to be acting more as expected.

RE: Premium Anti Spam False Positives

Updating my own question here.

As a test I turned off the Premium Anti Spam feature. My test messages started appearing again in the Inbox.

So now two questions:

1. Why is Premium AS ignoring the rules to do nothing except append the subject.
2. Why is the Premium AS giving me false positives.

Thanks!

Premium Anti Spam False Positives

In case my logging question gets no answers, here's another.

I have all of my spam rules set to append the subject of a spam to "[SPAM] Subject Bla Bla"

I then have a rule for each domain to move messages containing [SPAM] to the spamdump folder.

I do not delete, insert X headers, bounce etc. spam. This allows mail users to inspect the spamdump folder in case something comes up missing.

Seems to be working great for spam. However, there are message going into the spamdump folder that do not have [SPAM] in the subject line. AND, all of these are false positives.

What mechanism could be moving files into the spamdump folder bypassing all of my alter subject rules?

I have IMAIL 10

Under the AntiSpam tab I have each rule set to take no action except append the subject.

Thansk!
