And the support here really is bad. Have been waiting for them to log on and fix another issue for over a month now!

RE: Mailbox can't delete amd reporting wrong size

Does the user use Outlook connecting via IMAP to this account at any time?

The problem I was remembering appears to be specific to Outlook and connecting via IMAP, so unless they sometimes use Outlook as an IMAP client, that turns out to be a dead end.

While 8.05 is an old and unsupported version, lets try this. When is the last time before the problem started? Does the problem reoccur after you have copied all of the emails into a new folder? Can you pinpoint what type of email may have just been received when this problem occurs.

Here is an idea. Instruct the user that is having this problem to notifiy you as soon as it occurs. In the mean time, clear out the main.mbx file. As soon as it happens, make a copy of the main.mbx file and put it in a seperate temporary folder outside of users folders. Do that 3 times. Once you have 3 copies, open them with notepad and look at the bottom (or is it top) 5 messages. See if you can find a pattern.

RE: Mailbox can't delete amd reporting wrong size
dloseke (9/20/2007)
No uid and xml files in 8.x. I really felt beat up by the last post I got.... threatening to ignore me and acting like I was a problem.... All we want is a fix for this broken software we paid so much money for. We have spent years fighting this problem, it has never worked right, and every time we ask for help we get abused. No wonder so many in these forums state they are leaving IMail and never paying IPSwitch another penny... too bad they treat their customers so poorly.
I tried again yesterday for over two hours searching this problem, and never found anything. I am beginning to think they don't know how to fix it, and absolutely do not care.

RE: Mailbox can't delete amd reporting wrong size

No uid and xml files in 8.x. The only solution we have found is to rename it, and select all the messages and choose Move To and put them into a new mailbox.... but wondered if this is something more easily repaired as this process is long and slow if they have a lot of emails. Is there any way to check the contents of the MBX file and correct whatever may be wrong?
Thanks.
