Hi,

since the Post at the Maillinglist didn't show the response I was waiting for I'll try it here again.

OK, here is my Problem and one of many more users as I could read on the MList.

I would like to Print my Created Maps at DIN A3 not normal A4. On some Maps the printing option under file is working, but on some Maps it doesn't. It'll print the Items I putted on the Map but not the Background Image.

I tried everything, putting it on the back, to the Front, Grouping it with other Elements etc. None of it worked.

I'm running now WUG 8.01SP1, so I have the newest Update. It didn't worked in the release before 8 .0 neither.

Does any body know a solution to get it to work except the "Printing Screen" Method. If you printout the Map on a large Paper, you'll have steps at for example diagonal lines. And this, beleave me looks very ugly. But not only the lines will look Ugly the Letters also looking Ugly.

As I think and read before, this Problem exist for a long time, when IPSWITCH can't fix this, why you don't take this Option out (a hint for the Programmer ).

As I wrote before, I do not want to use the "PRINT SCREEN" method it realy looks Ugly. It may look OK on a normal peace of paper, but not on a larger one.

Sincerly Andreas Kneiseler

P.S.: Thanks a lot for the Forum , but Could you please give us a bigger field at the registration page for the eMail-Adress.

Many Comany adresses using firstname . lastname@Domain1.domain2.xx etc.

For example my one is axxxxxx.kxxxxxxxx@aumav.verwalt-berlin.de (I think you know for what these X's are)

I have a andy@, since I'm the mailadmin here, too, but not every one does !! And most of us using this program at the Company not at home with a GMX-Account

When you say that sometimes it works and sometimes it does not, does this mean that it works at A4 but not at A3, or some maps work at A3 and others don't? Is there anything that gives problems at A4? I do not have access to a printer that can handle A3, but I might be able to arrange access. Send me a cooy of your worst problem map, together with background image and I will see if I can reproduce what you are seeing.

The current release is v8.03 HF1, but I can tell you that no changes were made for printing in v8.0x.

I was going to suggest accessing the map via the web interface and printing the resulting JPG image of the map. However, this produces an image that is scaled for economy... 20 kb or so. I used Mozilla to do a print preview and zoom to 200% and saw the "steps" that you report when doing a print screen.

One thing I can do immediately is log a feature request for the web interface to offer a link to a high quality map image... something better suited to printing.

Thank's a lot for the response.

The Problem occurs at a A4 and A3 Page, Icouldn't figure out why this is like it is (Oh god, my english isn't very well) anyway,

I printed for example out a page on A3  for about 3 month or so, it worked. I tried it beginning this week, it didn't, but the mystic thing is I didn't do any changes to this map, but on others.

It is a little problem, when you have to do something on time pressure, and you turn your self left and right and back to the left but you can't get it to work.

I think, how I get the print out, isn't realy interresting as long as I get a fine nice printout on a A3 Page without any steps at all the lines which are diagonal and I can read every Icon-description, I think the Idea you've had is a nice solution for this Problem.

By the way I think this forum is a very nice big step for all of us. It's much easier to read the Postings anf there followups instead of getting al day long those funny messages:

Your messages was deleted without reading

Your message was seen,

palelale france (I realy don't understand france)

and alle the same messages in german too

At this Point I would like to say thanks a lot for this forum
