We are evaluating WS_FTP Professional. Since I cannot email support with this problem I will have to post it here.

For some reason it is having trouble opening a local folder/file. I am trying to GET into c:\temp folder which is wide open (security wise).

How are you trying to transfer the file?  Are you using the command line utility, or trying to manually transfer the file through the FTP Pro gui?

I am using WS_FTP Pro gui.

Cmd line ftp works fine as it always has. If you notice, for the Tandem, we have to give command of 'quote Guardian'. I have done this in the WS_FTP gui but this affects the remote machine.

Cmd line text:

Any commands you send through FTP (command line or the Pro GUI) are acting on the server.  Looking at the logs, it looks like the Guardian API is already enabled before you sent the 'quote guardian' command.  Also, I don't see where this command was sent using FTP Pro.

Can you turn off PASV mode in the site profile for FTP Pro so we can compare the transfer the command line did to WS_FTP more accurately?  Also, connect using the command line again and run a 'pwd' command after the CD.  I want to make sure we are showing the same directory for each connection.  Is there any chance you could setup a test connection so we could try to duplicate the behavior you are seeing?

I'm assuming you meant to get clearance to go through our firewall with a test connection. Highly doubt I can get permission for that.

I uninstalled the recently downloaded version of WS_FTP. We reverted back to version 6.70 2001.03.28. The 6.7 version works. I do not get the error about being unable to open a local file. I didn't jack with any of the settings, works as it always has.

Would like to get this latest version working so we can buy and set up the scheduling features.
